Central League Standings

Pacific League Standings

Nippon Professional Baseball standings rank each of the six teams in both leagues (Central League and Pacific League) based on performance to date. In the tables listed above, you’ll see values for games (G), wins (W), losses (L), and ties (T). The PCT is the team’s win percentage, and GB refers to how many games behind first place each team is.

Standings are updated regularly after completion of each day’s scheduled games.

Regular season success is important since the top three teams from each league advance to the postseason. In the first stage of the playoffs, The Climax Series, league winners get a bye in the first round while the second and third place team from each league play one another in a best-of-three series known as the First Stage. The winner of the First Stage then plays the regular season league champion in the Final Stage, with the ultimate league champions from both the Central and Pacific Leagues facing off in the Japan Series. The winner of the best-of-seven Japan Series becomes the NPB champion.
