Nippon Professional Baseball announced the final results of fan voting for the 2026 All-Star Series, with 23 players securing spots across the Central and Pacific leagues.
Game 1 will be played at Tokyo Dome on July 28, followed by Game 2 at Toyama Municipal Stadium on July 29. Tokyo Dome will host the event for the first time since 2019, while Toyama will become the first countryside venue at a non-NPB stadium to stage an All-Star Game since Matsuyama in 2022.
Hanshin Tigers manager Kyuji Fujikawa will manage the Central League team, while Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks manager Hiroki Kokubo will lead the Pacific League, as both skippers won their respective league pennants last season.
The PL swept the 2025 series with 5-1 and 10-7 victories, improving its all-time All-Star record to 93-82-11. The PL has also won eight of the last nine matchups.
Hanshin had four players voted into the Central League lineup: first baseman Yusuke Ohyama, second baseman Takumu Nakano, third baseman Teruaki Sato, and outfielder Shota Morishita. Morishita led all NPB players with 790,498 votes. Haruto Takahashi, who leads NPB with a 1.29 ERA, was not selected in the fan vote but will likely be added later in the selection process.
The Tokyo Yakult Swallows also had four players selected after failing to produce a single fan-voted All-Star last season, with catcher Yudai Koga, outfielder Shu Masuda, starting pitcher Taichi Yamano, and closer José Quijada earning spots.
Chunichi shortstop Kaito Muramatsu and outfielder Seiya Hosokawa were also selected, while Yomiuri Giants right-hander Taisei Ota won the relief pitcher vote.
In the Pacific, the Hokkaido Nipponham Fighters led all teams with an impressive six selections: starting pitcher Hiromi Itoh, catcher Yua Tamiya, first baseman Kotaro Kiyomiya, shortstop Tatsuki Mizuno, outfielder Chusei Mannami, and designated hitter Franmil Reyes.
The Chiba Lotte Marines had three players voted in with second baseman Ryusei Ogawa, outfielder Misho Nishikawa, and relief pitcher Shota Suzuki, while SoftBank third baseman Ryoya Kurihara and outfielder Ukyo Shuto also earned spots. Orix Buffaloes closer Andrés Machado completed the PL selections.
Additional players will be selected through voting by players and coaches, with those results expected to be announced in the coming days. The Plus One Vote will then run from July 14 through July 20, allowing fans to select one additional player from each league.
